Jupiter Saturn Conjunction 'Christmas Star'
I was not keeping up with the news and did not know about the Jupiter Saturn Conjunction until I saw people posting photos of it on social media. It is an astronomical phenomenon where Jupiter and Saturn appear 0.1 degrees apart in the sky.
I peered at the night sky from my corridor and realised I can see the planets. Needless to say, I ignored my half-eaten dinner and went for my camera instead. I thought my photography skills have become rusty because I had previously shot decent photographs of the two planets; all I obtained tonight were blurry blobs before they disappeared behind HDBs. As I exposed for Jupiter, I can detect slight hints of its red bands while Saturn's rings are discernible if you try hard enough.
Then, I remembered those sharper photographs were taken from Mount Batur without the notorious light pollution of Singapore. ISO 100 vs ISO 12800 (still underexposed).
