First Year in Gardening
I like to keep track of milestones. This August marks my first year in the world of gardening, and I have photography to thank for this new 'poisonous' hobby. On a whim, I purchased some succulents and air plants after a photography job at the Singapore Garden Festival and got highly addicted to them.
I had made a video of the plants I purchased at SGF. Unfortunately, I do not have the ideal environment to take care of them (my bedroom) and many have died in my hands. As of August, I was left with one succulent (Haworthia) and one Tillandsia ionantha. I used to have three ionanthas left but two of them died suddenly this month within days of each other. They were the flowering ones in my video and neither produced seeds or pups after a year.
My haworthia nearly did not survive, but it perked up after water therapy. It is now producing new growth. It used to be dark green but has turned black after living under a grow light. The remaining ionantha does not look too healthy to be honest but I am still keeping my fingers crossed.
