Using self-adhesive wallpaper to change the appearance of old furniture
As I embraced a more minimalistic lifestyle, I wanted my bedroom's theme to reflect the change as well. I envisioned a living space with predominantly black-and-white furniture and occasional pop of colour from decor. However, the existing furniture were a myriad of colours and mismatched.
I did not want to discard my furniture as they were all in working condition despite some wear-and-tear from use. In fact, I am challenging myself to not throw out any item during this makeover (perhaps except the old pull-out bed I have slept on all my life because I cannot figure out how to take it apart).
For my study table, I disliked the orange-brown wood laminate and I broke one of its handles a few years ago. Since the sides of the table were originally black, I decided to buy black adhesive wallpaper from Qoo10. For the handles. the Gubbarp handles from Ikea were a perfect match (only 90 cents for a pair!).
